After years of planning the Madison Athletic Complex is finally becoming a reality. At the Borough Council meeting on Monday May 22nd 2011 the project was awarded to the Landtek Group based in Amityville, NY. “This is great news for the children of Madison and for all the sports programs in town” said Marty Horn, Chairman, Madison Athletic Foundation. “The determination of the Mayor and council members Links, Tsukamoto, Esposito and Catalanello was a major reason the project was able to maintain momentum and receive final approval” continued Horn. Now that the bid has been awarded the focus of the MAF turns to fundraising.
The Foundation intends to launch a major 50/50 raffle campaign with the proceeds expected to be used for debt reduction of the project. Details of the raffle will be posted shortly to the Madison Athletic Foundation website (www.madisonathleticfoundation.org). Individual donations can also be accepted on the site.
